Every tax is a pay cut.  Every tax cut is a pay raise.
Citizens for Limited Taxation

It should be obvious that with burgeoning state aid, you would expect the town to be growing rapidly in terms of employees.

It only took the town's HR director (Robert Joy) a month to come up with these numbers after I submitted a request for them.

This represents all full time and part time employees for the town of Framingham, including schools.

This growth in personnel is being accomplished with state aid, which is an unreliable form of income for the town.  If state aid drops, the town either has to have a reduction in force or requests an override.  This is exactly what happened in the last override request.

While this increase of employment was occuring, I did not notice any increase in services, and as such, I consider this growth a transference of wealth thru taxation.

When the last override occured, the town told the taxpayers that they were lean and mean and no personnel could be cut.  It's funny how they can hire like crazy, but they can't cut.  If the town claims to be lean and mean, I would like to take them to the next level, skinny and pissed, by trimmimg their personnel by 10% to prevent a soon to come override attempt.

A rising tide (of taxation) lifts all (public) boats.
