If this Covid-19 virus lockdown has taught me anything, it is that toilet paper and water is essential, but schools and teachers are not.

Does the Framingham city council and the school committee think that we should pay for every town and school employee forever until they retire in the new Covid-19 environment?

Over thirty million americans lost their jobs in the past six weeks or so, but I have yet to see any local/state/federal government employee lose their job. I find that very disturbing.

Nothing will change with respect to schools until a vaccine is found or we slowly kill off the old, the obese and the sick. Reopening schools will obviously kill off most of the grandmas and grandpas in short order, not to mention the obese and sickly.

How long should we continue to believe that teachers are actually teaching? At McCarthy, students seem to have a a total of six hours per week for classes and one-on-one help sessions. Teaching now is simply assigning homework and not even grading it. The entire burden of teaching has been transferred to the parents. (Thanks, FTA.) Can we see some timesheets, accomplishments, blah! blah!

The FTA members did not contribute any of their own software in their now virtual environment, showing me they are not computer savvy. They chose Google Class. Now is the time for them to learn a lot more about computers (just before the computers take the teaching job away from pathetic humans).

What exactly do all the school principals, vice-princicpals and associate principals, school directors (lots of these), substitute teachers, librarians, custodians, janitors, cafe workers, bus drivers, secretaries, guidance counselors, speech therapists, psychologist, nurses, coaches etc., ad nauseum ... do while in lockdown? In 2020 Framingham city and school employees had 451 different titles and close to 3,374 employees. What are they doing now? Perhaps, Dr. Tremblay should answer that question. It's time to cull the herd.

I ask that the city council and school committee recognize that we are now in the Twilight Zone and there will be no escaping until a vaccine is found or all those that are due to die do so at a reasonable rate.

I would encourage taxpayers to organize a protest in front FTA's office. They are located at 1253 Worcester Road #302, Framingham, MA 01701 .

Their fearless leader Christine Mulroney does not even live in Framingham.

At this point, these blood sucking parasites are committing grand theft. and using their FTA membership dues

Thank you, Mr. Wolfe, for sharing your perspective on teaching and learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. You would probably not be surprised to know that I vehemently disagree with your assessment on what is happening during this time of remote education.

As we bring national Teacher Appreciation Week to a close today, I also find your email to be ill-timed and generally disrespectful of the incredible work that our teams of teachers and administrators have undertaken since mid-March to reimagine education in an environment that nobody was prepared to encounter.

Our entire school department has risen to the occasion and their efforts are nothing short of heroic. That's how I feel about the FTA.

Yet, I respect that you are a tax-payer in our community and, as such, I would be happy to arrange a mutually convenient time to talk with you about what our educators, support staff, and administrators are doing each day to care for and engage students.

I would welcome the opportunity to share with you the ways in which our teachers, counselors, social workers, support staff, and administrators are making a direct reach to families; the ways in which our school nurses are supporting the City's Department of Public Health with COVID-19 contract tracing; how our food service staff is ensuring that meals are available each day to our students; the time our translators and interpreters are taking to ensure that lessons and messaging are made available to families in multiple languages; and on and on and on.

We have much to discuss, Mr. Wolfe. Please let me know if and when you might like to connect next week and I will adjust my calendar accordingly.

Respectfully,

Bob Tremblay

Questions for Dr. Robert Tremblay

Tremblay's responses will be guided by his quarter million dollar salary which means toeing the school committee party line.

My questions come as a tax payer who partially pays his salary.

  1. Has the school committee discussed how long this Covid-19 situation will last?

Is there any plan to reopen schools next year, in August or September?

  2. Plyler v Doe as an unfunded mandate: why encourage it by providing more services?

Is Plyler v Doe ever discussed by the school committee?

  3. How is ESL even legal given INA 274, INA 275
Does the school system ask any questions of illegals

Are there any identification documentation required to get into ESL?

The FTA loves the influx because more teachers are needed.

  4. How are nurses handling students?

How about principals, vice principals, associate principals?

school directors, substitute teachers, librarians, custodians, janitors, cafe workers, bus drivers, secretaries, guidance counselors, speech therapists, psychologist, nurses, coaches...

  5. Can you send me info on some internal contact on the meals issue?

How many students are fed each school day?

How are students identified before picking up their meal?

    Are students fed on weekends?

  6. Who do I talk to about the make/model/price of these chromebooks?

How were students identified before picking up chromebooks?

Do you intend to collect them at the end of the school year and provide information on any losses?

Who (name and email) deals with chromebook issues like repairs and replacement?

What information is kept on each chromebook?
Wireless/bluetooth address? (Each of these is a unique number)

  7. How about wireless access for those who do not have it?

How much do these T-Mobile hotspots cost per month? Do they have unlimitted bandwidth?

  8. I understand that some of these Chromebooks and hotspots were mailed?

  9. Why is there such a disparity between SPED and gifted?

  10. How about equal funding for all students

  11. Is there any comprehensive documentation of the virtual enviroment set up recently? Has anyone written a online manual on procedures for students and teachers.

  12. Do you think it is appropriate to be running a church in a public school (Walsh middle school)?

Did the school committee vote on this? And when?
