Every tax is a pay cut. Every tax cut is a pay raise.
Just because you're not interested in politics doesn't mean politics isn't interested in you.

I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen.

That I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

That I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by the law.

That I will perform noncombatant service in the Armed Forces of the United States when required by the law.

That I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; so help me God.

The United States does not recognize the concept of dual-citizenship. This is exemplified by the oath of allegiance.

The original Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892.

I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

The current Pledge of Allegiance

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

To become a citizen, immigrants must be a lawful permanent resident for at least five years, pass tests on English and U.S. history and government, and swear allegiance to the United States.
