Every tax is a pay cut.  Every tax cut is a pay raise.

I whined about serious conflicts of interests in town meeting members being town employees.

I also whined about the assistant superintendent of schools being unable to take over the top job so we have to spend lots of money on someone who can actually do the job.

For the third time this year, I've heard the town manager say that unless we change the laws to enhance revenues, we will see a shortfall.  He's hinting again at a town income tax. See more here.

The selectman spent an hour on a liquor license violation.  This required the presence of three police officers.

The police chief and a subordinate was also there to peddle his thoughts on closing the Hollis street sub-station.  An anonymous town meeting member thought it was a bad idea because she is using it for cheap daycare.  Apparently, the sub-station has computers for kids.

Robert Addelson, the town's CFO presented his findings on negative discretionary income for the years 2004 thru 2006.  Unless the town manager cuts staff, here comes the the next override.
