What the Town of Framingham
does with your money

General Fund Per Capita Costs
This year, starting July 1, 2002, we will spend $160,000,000 thru the General Fund alone (we'll ignore the Enterprise fund for the moment).

Based on 48 work weeks in a year, 5 days a week, 37.5 hours/week or a 1800 hour year.  The town government spends $88,888 per hour, $1,481 per minute or $24.69 per second. Time is valuable.  If you sense that you are not getting much for your $24.69 per second, you're probably right.

Your per capita expense for the town government ($2,381) already far exceeds the per capita Massachussetts state income tax ($1,552).

To add insult to injury, we are told we have a revenue problem.  We really have an expenditure problem in Framingham.
