Wake up about immigration Monday, June 20, 2005
Jeff Brill, Marlborough Metrowest Daily News
This is in response to Michael Sullivan's column, "Listen to the people," in the May 26 MWDN.

I wish that Michael Sullivan was one of the state representatives from Framingham, because he is usually right on the target on most issues, especially illegal immigration.  Unfortunately this cannot be said of Deborah Blumer, who is a state representative from Framingham and is constantly on the side of illegal aliens, whether it's in-state tuition, drivers' licenses or health care.

It was refreshing to read Sullivan's column, where he said "illegal had a choice to stay home and make it more difficult for illegals in everything from work to drivers' licenses."  As he also stated, "If Blumer can have it her way - (we would) be a state where you are ticketed for not using a seat belt but get a pass on being illegal."

This brings me to the front page story by Liz Mineo on May 28, where she wrote about Sergio Silva, an illegal alien who lost a leg in a workplace accident in Marlborough and cannot pay for his medical expenses because his employer was not carrying workers' compensation insurance.

What really upsets me is the fact that he has addressed his problem to such bleeding hearts at the State Department of Industrial Accidents, educators and others, and wants everyone to feel sorry for him.

We've got to stop this political correctness, radical liberalism and super tolerance.  Remember, this thinking helped create the tragedy of September 11th.

Let's wake up before it's too late.
